Podiatry Services in Burgess Hill & What to Expect

Appointments

All podiatry services are by appointment only. We try to be as accommodating as possible and offer a few early evening appointments for general and biomechanical assessments if you cannot visit us during the day.

What Should I Bring?

You don’t need to bring anything with you to your appointment, but if you have any reports from previous consultations it may be useful to bring these with you.

When You Get Here

When you arrive for your appointment in Burgess Hill, the first thing we do is carry out a thorough consultation and assessment. This will cover general foot care and health as well as any past problems or treatments. We’ll also ask about any medical conditions that may be relevant, for example you may require specialist diabetic care. All this helps us work out exactly how we can help you.

Because we tailor podiatry services to each patient, the initial appointment will vary. However, it will involve the following:

Examination

We will carefully examine your feet to assess any problems. For issues such as fungal infections and ingrown toenails, this includes the skin and nails. We also carry out biomechanical assessments which involve examining lower limbs, muscles and joints.

Treatment Plan

Following your examination, we advise on the best course of action and devise a tailored treatment plan and schedule, if necessary. We also provide information and advice about general foot care, including ongoing diabetic care.

Podiatry Services

Burgess Hill Podiatry undertakes a range of professional services and treatments for all kinds of issues. Depending on the results of your examination, we may recommend various treatment options such as:

  • Ongoing diabetic care, including annual foot inspections.
  • Partial nail ablation for ingrown toenails.
  • Insoles or custom-made orthotics for biomechanical issues.
  • Referral to a physiotherapist, sports doctor, osteopath or rheumatologist.
